The other airport across the river
Niagara Falls International Airport (IAG) sits at 2035 Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls, New York, a few minutes east of the city and the closest US airport to the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. It is small, it is run in affiliation with the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority - the same body that runs Buffalo Niagara International - and for Toronto travellers it means one thing: low-cost leisure flights to Florida and the Carolinas without Pearson's queues. A chauffeured car from downtown Toronto to the IAG terminal is 139 km (86 miles), about 1 hour 45 minutes of driving off-peak by the Gardiner, the QEW and Highway 405, plus the border.
This page covers the Niagara Falls International Airport run in detail: which airline flies from it and where, how the drive and the crossing work, why a chauffeured car is the practical option on the US side, the terminal drop-off and pickup, and what it costs. If you are comparing it with Buffalo, the Buffalo Niagara airport page is the companion read; the cross-border page covers the crossing in general.

Airlines and routes from IAG
IAG is not a hub and does not pretend to be. When we checked the airport's Where We Fly page on 8 October 2026, it listed one airline, Allegiant Air, flying from IAG to:
- Fort Myers / Punta Gorda, Florida
- Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
- Orlando / Sanford, Florida
- Tampa / St. Petersburg, Florida
On the same day, Allegiant's own route map showed Niagara Falls service from Punta Gorda, Orlando-Sanford and Tampa-St. Pete; Myrtle Beach did not appear, which usually means a seasonal route. Low-cost carriers change schedules with the season and do not fly every route every day, so check the airline's schedule for your dates before you book the car - and book the car only once the flight is ticketed.
Note the airports at the Florida end: Punta Gorda rather than Fort Myers' main airport, Sanford rather than Orlando International, St. Pete-Clearwater rather than Tampa International. For a beach condo or a theme-park week that is often fine; for a cruise from Port Canaveral or a meeting downtown, check the ground distance at the far end too.
Why Canadians use Niagara Falls airport
The airport's Canadian information page makes the case in its own words: it is "mere miles" from the Canadian border and the QEW, there is no additional customs and immigration stop at the airport for US destinations, and there are no international taxes or fees on flights to US airports. It publishes a sample comparison for a family of four flying to Myrtle Beach (from August 2022) with lower fares and parking at IAG than at Pearson. Those are the airport's figures from a past season; the principle - a domestic US fare instead of a transborder one - is the part that still holds.
The NFTA also says that almost two million Canadians used its airports in the previous year. Most of them go to Buffalo, which has far more routes. IAG's advantage is that it is nearer and smaller: from the GTA it is 32 km closer than BUF, the terminal is a short walk from curb to gate, and on a quiet morning the whole airport feels like a regional bus station with jets.
Niagara Falls International Airport (IAG) is at 2035 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Niagara Falls NY - 139 km (86 miles) from downtown Toronto, about 1 hour 45 minutes of driving plus the border, via the QEW, Highway 405 and the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. Allegiant Air flies from IAG to Florida and Myrtle Beach. A chauffeured car can cross the border; the airport notes rideshare cannot.
The drive and the crossing
From Union Station the route is the Gardiner west, the QEW around the lake through Oakville, Burlington, Grimsby and St. Catharines, then Highway 405 to the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. On the US side it is a short run by the Niagara Scenic Parkway or I-190 and Niagara Falls Boulevard to the terminal. Lewiston-Queenston is the natural crossing for IAG; the Rainbow Bridge through the middle of Niagara Falls is the backup if Lewiston is jammed, and the Peace Bridge at Fort Erie makes no sense for this airport.
Allow 30 minutes for the border on a weekday morning and 60 to 90 on a Friday, weekend or holiday, and plan backwards from the flight: Allegiant's check-in deadline for your booking, then the border, then the drive. The chauffeur reads the CBP wait-time board before leaving and again from the QEW. At Lewiston-Queenston the dedicated NEXUS lane into the US runs Monday to Friday, 6 to 8 am, according to the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission - and NEXUS lanes can only be used if every passenger in the car holds a card.
Documents
Canadian citizens crossing by land can present a passport or a NEXUS card, according to CBP. Children under 16 need proof of citizenship at the land border, but the airline may ask for more at the gate, so most families carry every passport. A child with one parent should carry a consent letter from the other. Permanent residents and visitors need whatever their nationality requires for US entry.
Why a chauffeured car, specifically
The airport's own ground transportation page says it plainly: rideshare services are not allowed to cross the border. An Uber from Toronto stops at the bridge; an Uber from IAG will not take you home to Canada. A taxi on either side has the same problem in reverse. A chauffeured car booked from Toronto crosses both ways with the same driver, the same documents and the same price on the confirmation, which is why this airport is a natural fit for a car service.
The alternative is to drive yourself and park. The airport lists daily and weekly parking rates in US dollars, and its first lot has a height limit of 6 feet 2 inches - fine for a sedan, a problem for some roof boxes. For a family of four leaving for ten days, a car each way usually costs more than parking; for a family that does not want to drive the QEW at 4 am, or would rather not leave the car across the border for two weeks, it is the easier option.
Terminal drop-off and pickup at IAG
The terminal is a single, modern building with a short curb. The chauffeur drops you at the door, unloads the bags and leaves; there is no long walk and no train between terminals.
For the return, put the flight number in the booker and the flight is tracked. Meet and greet - the chauffeur inside with a name sign - is an option in the booker; otherwise the chauffeur waits nearby (the airport has a free cell phone lot in front of the terminal, with up to two hours of free waiting according to its parking page) and comes to the door when you call. An Allegiant arrival from Florida is a domestic US flight, so there is no customs at the airport: your free waiting is 30 minutes from landing, and the customs stop is at the bridge on the way home, with the CBSA.
Early flights and the QEW in the dark
Low-cost carriers like early departures, and an early departure from IAG means an early pickup in Toronto. A 7 am flight with the airline's check-in deadline, a weekday border allowance and 1 hour 45 minutes of driving means leaving downtown before 3:30 am, when there is no GO train to Niagara and a city taxi will not take you across a border. That hour is exactly what a pre-booked chauffeur is for: the car is outside at the time on the confirmation, the plate is texted the evening before, and the QEW at that hour is empty all the way to St. Catharines. In winter the dispatcher watches the lake-effect snow forecast for the Niagara Peninsula and will move the pickup earlier if the escarpment at Grimsby looks bad - every vehicle has winter tyres from November.
Who books Niagara Falls airport
Families from Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington and Hamilton heading to Florida for March break, for whom IAG is closer than Pearson by road time and cheaper by fare. Retirees going south for the winter with two large suitcases each. Golf groups on a Myrtle Beach week. Grandparents meeting a family arriving on the Sanford flight and bringing them back to a house in Vaughan or Markham. If you are on the Hamilton side of the lake, the Hamilton area page shows how short the drive becomes.
IAG or Buffalo?
| Niagara Falls (IAG) | Buffalo (BUF) | |
|---|---|---|
| Distance from Union Station | 139 km / 86 mi | 171 km / 106 mi |
| Typical drive (plus border) | 1 h 45 | 2 h 15 |
| Airlines listed by the airport | Allegiant | American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Sun Country, United |
| Best for | Florida and Myrtle Beach on a low fare | Almost any US destination |
| Usual bridge | Lewiston-Queenston | Lewiston-Queenston or Peace Bridge |
If the flight you want exists from IAG on your dates, IAG is the shorter drive. If it does not, Buffalo almost certainly has it. If you are flying somewhere Pearson serves well and there is only one of you, the Pearson airport limo or Billy Bishop may still be the better answer - Pearson's US preclearance saves the border in the car.
Which car
An Executive Sedan for one to three passengers. A Business SUV for a family with Florida luggage, golf clubs or a stroller - see the black SUV page. An Escalade for the same space with a quieter cabin. An Executive Sprinter for a group of eight to twelve on the same Allegiant flight - a golf trip, a family reunion, a girls' week in Myrtle Beach - with every bag in the rear bay. If you need a car seat for a toddler, select it in the booker ($25 each); the car-seat page explains the options. The full line-up is on the fleet page.
What it costs
A one-way transfer to or from IAG is a flat fare by address and class, quoted in the engine before you confirm, with the car's return built in. For a round trip where the chauffeur waits - a drop-off and a pickup on the same day, or a same-day errand at the airport - about five hours covers it. At the engine quotes of 8 October 2026, in Canadian dollars, before 13% HST and gratuity:
| Class | Hourly rate | About 5 hours, round trip with waiting |
|---|---|---|
| Executive Sedan | $135-$160 | $675-$800 |
| Business SUV | $175-$210 | $875-$1,050 |
| First Class SUV (Escalade) | $225-$270 | $1,125-$1,350 |
| Executive Sprinter (12) | $475-$570 | $2,375-$2,850 (5 h minimum) |
The exact rate for your date shows in the booker before you confirm. Bridge tolls and the 407 (only if you choose that route) are shown at booking. The rates page explains hourly bookings and the city-to-city page when a flat fare is better.
Book direct
Book the outbound and the return together in the reservation engine on this page, with the Allegiant flight numbers, or call (833) 931-6688 toll-free, 24/7, or message us on WhatsApp. Put every passenger's name and nationality in the notes. Cancellation counts from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100% - so if Allegiant moves your flight, tell us early. The travel desk can book the flight or a hotel through BookingWorldwide.net.
While you are on the US side, the Niagara Falls USA side and the Seneca Niagara casino are fifteen minutes from the terminal, and the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA are on the same boulevard. The whole cross-border list is on the USA hub.

Book the car after the flight. IAG has one airline and a schedule that changes with the season. Ticket the flight first, then book the car with the flight number in the booker - so the pickup moves with the schedule, not the other way round.
Niagara Falls airport (IAG): questions answered
Where is Niagara Falls International Airport?
At 2035 Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls, New York, a few minutes east of the city and close to the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. It is 139 km (86 miles) from Union Station in Toronto, about 1 hour 45 minutes of driving plus the border.
What airlines fly from Niagara Falls International Airport?
When we checked the airport's site on 8 October 2026 it listed Allegiant Air, to Fort Myers/Punta Gorda, Myrtle Beach, Orlando/Sanford and Tampa/St. Petersburg. Allegiant's route map that day did not show Myrtle Beach, which suggests a seasonal route - check the airline for your dates.
Can I take an Uber from Toronto to Niagara Falls airport?
Not across the border - the airport's ground transportation page says rideshare services are not allowed to cross. A chauffeured car booked from Toronto crosses both ways with the same driver and documents.
How much is a car service from Toronto to Niagara Falls airport?
A one-way is a flat fare quoted in the engine. A same-day round trip with waiting is about five hours: from $675-$800 in an Executive Sedan, $875-$1,050 in a Business SUV, or $2,375-$2,850 in a Sprinter, CAD, engine quotes of 8 October 2026, before HST and gratuity.
Do I need a passport to fly from Niagara Falls NY?
To cross by land, Canadian citizens can show a passport or a NEXUS card. The airline may have its own ID rules for the flight, so bring passports for everyone, including children.
Which bridge do you use for Niagara Falls airport?
The Lewiston-Queenston Bridge off Highway 405 - it is the closest to the airport. The Rainbow Bridge is the backup when Lewiston is busy. The chauffeur decides from the live wait times.
Is IAG better than Buffalo airport?
If the flight you want exists from IAG, it is the shorter drive - 139 km against 171 km. Buffalo has seven airlines and far more destinations, so for anything other than Allegiant's Florida and Carolina routes, Buffalo is the airport.
Is there customs at Niagara Falls airport when I come back?
No - an Allegiant flight from Florida is a domestic US arrival. You clear Canadian customs at the bridge on the drive home.

LimousineWorldwide.Directory
Our listing in the worldwide directory is how a Toronto client who keeps a chauffeur by the hour here can do the same in Vancouver, London or Dubai through a vetted operator. Every Canadian city and every country on this site is served through that network.

Membership commits us to the association's standards on licensing, commercial insurance, vehicle inspection and chauffeur conduct - the things a passenger cannot check from the back seat during a ten-hour day.

HotelsWorldwide.Directory
Our membership of the hotels directory links the car to the bed: concierges and hotel teams across the directory find a vetted Toronto chauffeur in one place, and our clients find the hotel at the far end of the drive - Yorkville, the airport strip, Niagara-on-the-Lake or Muskoka.
