Quiet, punctual, and on the funeral director's timetable
A funeral day has one schedule that matters, and it belongs to the funeral director. The family cars are there to fit inside it without anyone having to think about them: at the house before the time, behind the hearse when the procession leaves, waiting at the cemetery while the committal takes as long as it takes, and on to the reception when the family is ready. A funeral limousine in Toronto is less about the vehicle than about that quiet reliability, and it is what TorontoBlackCarService.net provides as funeral car service across the city and the GTA.
We supply the family cars - the vehicles that carry the immediate family and those closest to them - and transportation for relatives arriving from out of town. The funeral home provides the hearse and directs the day. This page explains which vehicles suit a family limousine for a funeral, how we work with the funeral director, what the day costs and how the booking works. When you are ready, book direct by calling (833) 931-6688 or WhatsApp +1 647-667-7689, 24/7 - for a funeral most families prefer to speak to a person - or use the reservation engine on this page.

The family cars: which vehicle
Executive Sedan. Three passengers in the back, discreet and black. The right car for a spouse and two adult children, or for a small family who want the simplest arrangement.
Mercedes E-Class or S-Class. The quietest cabin and the most formal presence, for the principal family car. Many families choose one S-Class for the immediate family and sedans or SUVs for the rest.
Business SUV or First Class SUV. Up to six passengers in a Yukon, Suburban or Escalade, with a higher seat that older relatives often find easier to get in and out of, and room for a folded wheelchair or walker. In winter, the SUV is the car for a cemetery road.
Executive Sprinter. Twelve seats for an extended family who want to travel together rather than in a line of four cars - cousins, grandchildren, the pallbearers. One chauffeur, one arrival, everyone in the same place.
Stretch limousine. Eight passengers in the traditional funeral limousine. Stretch limousines are vetted partner vehicles, booked, invoiced and supported by us; some families want the classic shape, and others find a line of black sedans and SUVs more in keeping with the day.
The fleet page has each vehicle's detail and the black SUV page compares the SUV classes. If you are unsure, tell the desk how many people need to travel and who among them has difficulty with steps, and it will suggest the combination.
Following the hearse
The procession is the part of the day families worry about, and the part chauffeurs handle most carefully. The family cars line up behind the hearse in the order the funeral director sets, usually with the principal family car immediately behind it. The chauffeurs keep the procession together at the hearse's pace, do not drift apart at lights, and follow the director's route to the place of worship or the cemetery. Inside cemetery grounds the cars follow the cemetery staff's directions to the section and wait where they are told. Chauffeurs are City of Toronto vehicle-for-hire licensed, Toronto-based and in dark suits; on a funeral day they speak when spoken to, keep the music off unless asked, and have tissues and water in the car.
Coordinating with the funeral director
The best arrangement is for the family to make one decision - how many cars and which - and let the desk and the funeral director settle the rest. With your permission the desk contacts the funeral home for the order of the day: the time the family cars should be at the house, when the hearse leaves the funeral home, the service at the chapel, church, mosque, temple or synagogue, the committal or the crematorium, and the reception afterwards. Changes on the day - a service that runs long, a reception that moves - go from the director to the desk and the cars follow. The family does not have to phone anyone.
A funeral limousine in Toronto is the family car service on the day of a funeral: sedans, an S-Class, SUVs, a Sprinter or a stretch limousine that collect the family, follow the hearse in the funeral director's order, wait at the cemetery and take everyone to the reception. TorontoBlackCarService.net works to the funeral director's schedule, with a three-hour minimum for cars and five for larger vehicles.
Funeral transportation to Toronto cemeteries
Most Toronto funerals end at a cemetery or crematorium across the city, and the drive is part of planning the day. Mount Pleasant Cemetery, at 375 Mount Pleasant Road in midtown, is the best known: opened in 1876, designated a National Historic Site in 2000, and covering about 83 hectares of winding roads, so the cars follow cemetery staff to the section rather than a map. From Union Station it is about 6 km and 15-20 minutes off-peak; from Pearson about 30 km and 35-40 minutes. Other cemeteries in North York, Vaughan, Mississauga, Markham and Brampton each have their own gates and their own staff, and the funeral director will know them; the chauffeurs are briefed on each one's entrance before the day. For a burial outside the GTA - a family plot in another town, a cemetery near the cottage - the drive is part of the hourly booking and the desk gives the distance and time when you call.
Relatives flying in
Funerals bring families together from across the country and the world, often at a few days' notice. A relative landing at Pearson the night before can be met in arrivals with meet and greet, with the flight tracked and the free wait of 30 minutes after a domestic landing or 45 after an international one. Pearson to Union Station is 27 km and about 26 minutes, and the engine's one-way quotes on 8 October 2026, before 13% HST and gratuity, are from $140-$170 in an Executive Sedan, from $180-$215 in a Business SUV, from $230-$275 in an Escalade and from $350-$420 in an E/S-Class; other addresses quote their own fare in the booker. Several relatives on different flights can be one booking with several pickups, and a family arriving from abroad can be collected and taken straight to the house. The Pearson page and the Billy Bishop page have the airport detail; the travel desk can help with flights and hotels for relatives at short notice.
What a funeral day costs
Family cars are booked by the hour, with the clock running from the first pickup. The minimum is three hours for sedans, SUVs, the S-Class and the stretch limousine, and five hours for the Executive Sprinter; overtime is billed at the same rate to the next full hour. A typical day - house, service, cemetery, reception - runs three to five hours. The engine's hourly quotes on 8 October 2026, before HST and gratuity:
| Vehicle | Per hour | 3-hour minimum | 4 hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Executive Sedan | from $135-$160 | from $405-$480 | from $540-$640 |
| Business SUV (Yukon/Suburban) | from $175-$210 | from $525-$630 | from $700-$840 |
| First Class SUV (Escalade) | from $225-$270 | from $675-$810 | from $900-$1,080 |
| Mercedes E/S-Class | from $350-$420 | from $1,050-$1,260 | from $1,400-$1,680 |
| Stretch limousine (8) | from $400-$480 | from $1,200-$1,440 | from $1,600-$1,920 |
| Executive Sprinter (12), 5-hour minimum | from $475-$570 | - | 5 h from $2,375-$2,850 |
These are ranges, not single prices; the exact rate for the date and addresses shows in the booker before you confirm, or the desk reads it to you on the phone. The rates page explains hourly pricing in general. Families who would rather not deal with a card on the day can pay at booking; funeral homes and estates can be invoiced through corporate accounts.
The reception, and getting everyone home
The family cars do not end at the graveside. After the committal they take the family on to the reception - at the house, a community hall, a restaurant or a banquet room - and wait or return for the drive home. This is the part of the day when people are tired and the plans change most: an aunt who wants to go back to her hotel early, a grandparent who needs to leave before the rest. With an hourly booking the car is still yours, so those small detours are simply part of the day rather than another booking. For relatives staying in a hotel, the cars can drop them on the way; for those flying home the next morning, the airport run can be booked at the same time, so nobody has to think about it again.
Arranging from a distance
Many funerals are arranged by a son or daughter who lives in another city or another country, booking for an elderly parent in Toronto. That works well with us. The desk takes the booking by phone or email, confirms the details in writing, takes payment by card online, and names the person at the Toronto end - the parent, a sibling, a neighbour - as the contact on the day. The chauffeur calls that person when they are on the way, and the person who booked receives the confirmation. If the family is also travelling in, the travel desk can arrange flights and a hotel near the funeral home, and the airport pickups can be added to the same reservation.
Our cancellation policy, said plainly
Funeral arrangements change, sometimes more than once, and we would rather you knew the policy at the start than discovered it later. Cancellations are measured from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours before, there is no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%. The reason is practical - on the day the cars and chauffeurs are held for you and cannot be offered to anyone else. If the time or date of the service moves, call the desk as soon as you know; the earlier we hear, the more we can do with the vehicles available.
Services of every faith and none
Toronto's funerals follow many traditions, and the order of the day - how soon after a death the funeral takes place, whether the family walks part of the way, who rides with whom, when the cars leave the cemetery - belongs to the family and their faith. Tell the desk what the day involves and the chauffeurs follow it. For a burial that must take place quickly, call the desk directly rather than booking online; the phone is answered 24/7. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario, which regulates funeral, burial and cremation services in the province, publishes a free consumer guide for families arranging a funeral.
Booking family cars
Call the desk and say how many people need to travel, the date and the funeral home; the desk suggests the vehicles, quotes the rate, and with your permission takes the timings from the funeral director. If you prefer to book online, choose By the hour, the class, the first pickup address and the start time, and put the funeral home's name and the places of service, burial and reception in the notes. For several vehicles, one call is simpler. The hourly chauffeur page explains how hourly bookings work, and the contact page has every way to reach us.

One call, then nothing to think about. The family decides the cars; the desk and the funeral director arrange the rest. On the day, the chauffeurs are at the door early and the only thing anyone needs to do is get in.
Funeral limousine & family cars: questions answered
How do I book a funeral limousine in Toronto?
Call the desk at (833) 931-6688 or WhatsApp +1 647-667-7689, 24/7, with the date, the funeral home and how many people need to travel. The desk suggests the vehicles, quotes the hourly rate, and with your permission takes the timings from the funeral director. Online booking is also available.
Do you provide the hearse?
No. The funeral home provides the hearse and directs the day. We provide the family cars - sedans, an S-Class, SUVs, a Sprinter or a stretch limousine - and transportation for relatives, working to the funeral director's schedule.
How much does funeral car service cost in Toronto?
Family cars are hourly, from the engine's quotes on 8 October 2026 before HST and gratuity: a sedan from $405-$480 for the three-hour minimum, a Business SUV from $525-$630, an Escalade from $675-$810, and a Sprinter from $2,375-$2,850 for five hours.
Which vehicle is best as a family limousine for a funeral?

Will the cars follow the hearse to the cemetery?
Yes. The family cars line up behind the hearse in the order the funeral director sets, keep the procession together at the hearse's pace, and inside the cemetery follow the staff's directions to the section and wait until the family is ready.
Can you pick up relatives from Pearson for the funeral?
Yes. Flights are tracked, meet and greet puts a chauffeur with a name sign in arrivals, and several relatives on different flights can be one booking with several pickups. Pearson to Union Station is 27 km, about 26 minutes, from $140-$170 by sedan.
What is your cancellation policy for a funeral booking?
From the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%. If the service time moves, call the desk as soon as you know.
How long is a typical funeral booking?
Three to five hours covers most days: the house, the service, the cemetery and the reception. The minimum is three hours for cars and the stretch limousine and five for the Sprinter, with overtime at the same rate to the next full hour.
Four rules. No small print.
The hourly minimums are the ones printed in our terms; the rate for each class is quoted live by the reservation engine for your date. The rates page explains what moves it.
- 3hExecutive Sedan, Luxury Sedan, SUV
- 3hStretch Limousine, Economy Van
- 5hExecutive Sprinter, Stretch SUV, Coach, Limo/Party Bus
3-hour minimum
Sedans and SUVs book from three hours; Sprinters and coaches from five. After the minimum, time is billed by the hour.
The clock runs from your door
Hourly time starts at the pickup address, not at our garage. Garage travel, where it applies, is shown at booking in 30-minute blocks - never a surprise on the invoice.
Overtime rounds to the hour
Run past the reserved block and the extra time is billed to the next full hour at the same rate, with tax and gratuity as on the original booking.
Waiting is included
Hourly means the car waits. The meeting that runs long, the dinner that runs late, the second stop you did not plan - the chauffeur is outside, the clock simply continues.

LimousineWorldwide.Directory
Our listing in the worldwide directory is how a Toronto client who keeps a chauffeur by the hour here can do the same in Vancouver, London or Dubai through a vetted operator. Every Canadian city and every country on this site is served through that network.

LimousineAssociation.International
Membership commits us to the association's standards on licensing, commercial insurance, vehicle inspection and chauffeur conduct - the things a passenger cannot check from the back seat during a ten-hour day.

HotelsWorldwide.Directory
Our membership of the hotels directory links the car to the bed: concierges and hotel teams across the directory find a vetted Toronto chauffeur in one place, and our clients find the hotel at the far end of the drive - Yorkville, the airport strip, Niagara-on-the-Lake or Muskoka.

VacationsWorldwide.Directory
Membership of the vacations directory puts our day trips - Niagara, the wineries, Muskoka, Blue Mountain, Prince Edward County - in front of travellers planning the whole holiday, with the tours, resorts and activities around them listed alongside.
