The same hourly chauffeur in sixteen more cities
Toronto is home. Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa and the rest are served on the same booking through vetted network operators - one standard, one invoice.
The car that stays with you
The hourly chauffeur is the core; the same cars and the same flat rates cover the airport run, the corporate account, the wedding day and the long drive out of the city.
What 'black car' means
Black car is the North American livery industry's term for a chauffeured sedan or SUV booked in advance at a flat rate - the product between a taxi and a stretch limousine. The car is black because the trade has always run black cars, the driver is a licensed chauffeur in a suit, the price is fixed before the car moves, and the booking is a contract rather than a hail. In Toronto the phrase is used by corporate travel managers, by executive assistants, by anyone who has used a car service in New York, and by the City of Toronto's bylaw, which licenses limousines as a category distinct from taxis and private-transportation companies.
The domain is the description: this is a Toronto black car service, and it is built around booking the black car by the hour. The hourly pillar explains that product in full; this page explains black car service as a category - the cars, the pricing, the standard, and the difference from Uber Black.

The cars, and what makes them 'black cars'
A black car is a late-model full-size sedan or SUV, black, with a black leather interior, kept to a standard that would embarrass a rental: detailed before every booking, no advertising, no branding beyond a small plate, tinted rear glass, bottled water and a charger in the door. Ours: the Executive Sedan (Mercedes E-Class, Cadillac CT6, Lincoln Continental or similar), the Mercedes S-Class, the Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, Chevrolet Suburban or similar), and for groups the Executive Sprinter. The stretch limousine is a different product with its own page. Each class is 'or similar' per our terms, because the car sent is the nearest of the class; every car in a class meets the same age and condition standard. The fleet page has capacities and minimums.
How a black car is priced
Two ways, both flat. By the hour: a rate per class for the date, a three-hour minimum for sedans and SUVs (five for the Sprinter), stops and waiting included, overtime to the next hour at the same rate. By the transfer: a flat fare by pickup address, drop-off address and class, with flight tracking and a waiting allowance on airport runs. Neither has a meter; neither surges; both show the total before you confirm, with 13% HST and a suggested gratuity as separate lines. 407 tolls only if you choose that route; venue parking only where charged. The rates page explains what moves the hourly number and what other Toronto black car operators publish.
Black car versus Uber Black
Uber Black is a good product and the comparison is fair. It is a premium ride in a black car with a licensed driver, priced at booking from distance, time and demand, ending at the door. The difference is not the car; it is the contract. A black car service is booked in advance with a named chauffeur and a specified vehicle, at a price fixed regardless of demand, and on an hourly booking it waits. Uber Black at 5 pm on a Tuesday for one ride downtown is cheaper and we say so. Uber Black for a 5 am Pearson run from Oakville, a 1 am pickup from a Vaughan wedding, a day of nine stops, a client you are hosting, or a parent you are responsible for is a probability where the black car is a certainty. The comparison page prices four real days both ways.
Black car service in Toronto is a chauffeured executive sedan or SUV booked in advance at a flat rate - by the hour with a three-hour minimum and waiting included, or by the transfer with the fare fixed by address. The driver is a licensed chauffeur, the car is late-model and black, there is no meter and no surge, and the rate is shown before you confirm.
The black car by the hour
The product this site exists for: the black car and chauffeur at your disposal for a block, from three hours to a multi-day run, with the clock starting at your door. The hourly hub has fourteen shapes of it - the half-day, the full day, the as-directed executive day, the evening, the day trip - and the rates page the number.
The black car by the transfer
The Pearson airport limo: a flat fare from any GTA address to either terminal, the flight tracked, thirty minutes of waiting on domestic arrivals and forty-five on international per our terms, the chauffeur at the pre-arranged pickup or inside with a name board as an add-on. The Billy Bishop run. The point-to-point across the city - hotel to the Convention Centre, office to a client in Mississauga. The one-way city-to-city drive. Choose Route in the engine and the fare is fixed by address.
Corporate black car
The account product: traveller profiles, hourly and transfer rates on file, bookings by the assistant, a dispatcher who watches the day, one monthly invoice by traveller and cost centre. Most Toronto corporate ground transportation is black car service on account, and the corporate accounts page and the executive car service page cover it.
The standard, and who enforces it
The City of Toronto licenses limousine drivers and vehicles under its vehicle-for-hire bylaw: a driver's licence with a clean abstract and a criminal record check, an annual vehicle inspection, commercial passenger insurance, and a limousine plate. Ontario's Highway Traffic Act and the commercial vehicle operator's rules set hours of service and inspection standards. The Limousine Association International sets the conduct standard we work to. And the LimousineWorldwide.Directory is the vetted network through which the same standard reaches Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and fifty-nine countries on the same account.
Black car across the GTA and out of the city
The flat hourly rate is the same from downtown to Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Oakville and Hamilton; garage travel is shown at booking where an early or late pickup is far from the yard. The black car takes the day out to Niagara, Muskoka and Blue Mountain and brings you home, and one way to Ottawa, Montreal, Buffalo and Detroit.
Who books a black car in Toronto
Corporate travel managers and executive assistants, most of all. Law firms for witnesses and clients. Banks for roadshows. Hotels' concierges for guests. Relocation companies for showing days. Families for a parent's hospital days. Couples for the wedding. Visitors for a sightseeing day. Anyone who has stood on King Street at midnight watching a surge multiplier climb and decided that next time they would book the car.

Booking a black car
The reservation engine on every page: By the hour or Route, the class, the addresses, the date and time, the hours or the flight number, confirm. Or the desk by phone, 24 hours. A weekday sedan the same day is usually possible; a Saturday, a Sprinter, TIFF week or a playoff night needs notice. The plate is texted before every pickup.
Black car service for hotels and concierges
Toronto's hotels book black cars for guests all day: the Pearson arrival, the dinner run, the theatre, the shopping afternoon, the Niagara day. A concierge account with the desk gives the property a direct line, the plate texted to the guest, the charge to the room or the guest's card, and a monthly statement. The Four Seasons, the Ritz-Carlton, the Shangri-La, the St. Regis, the Hazelton, the Park Hyatt, the Fairmont Royal York, the King Edward and the Thompson each have a car-service entrance the chauffeurs know; the Yorkville and downtown area pages list them.
Black car for law firms, banks and family offices
The professions that book black cars most in Toronto are the ones for whom a late arrival or a lost witness is expensive. Law firms book sedans for witnesses and S-Classes for clients during trial weeks at the Superior Court on University Avenue and the new courthouse on Armoury Street. Banks book roadshows. Family offices book the personal chauffeur arrangement for principals and the airport run for visiting family. Each is on account with a code, and each has the same conversation once with the desk and never again.
When a black car is the wrong product
A single short ride downtown at 2 pm on a Wednesday: take the app. A twelve-person party to a wedding: the Sprinter, not three sedans. A prom: the stretch. A passenger who must travel on a stretcher: a patient-transfer service. A ride right now, in four minutes: not us. The comparison page exists to say so plainly.
The receipt
Every black car booking closes with an emailed receipt: the date, the pickup and drop-off or the hours used, the class, the rate, HST, the gratuity set, tolls or parking if any, and the total - the same figures as the confirmation. Corporate bookings roll into the monthly statement. It is the document that lets a finance team reconcile a trip in ten seconds and the one that a taxi cannot produce and a ride-app produces nine times over. Lost receipts are re-issued by the desk on request, with the confirmation number or the date and the traveller's name.

Why the car is black. Because a black car is anonymous, and anonymity is the service. The client arriving at First Canadian Place in a black S-Class could be anyone; the client arriving in a white stretch with a company name on the door could not. Discretion is the product and the paint is part of it.

3-hour minimum
Sedans and SUVs book from three hours; Sprinters and coaches from five. After the minimum, time is billed by the hour.
The clock runs from your door
Hourly time starts at the pickup address, not at our garage. Garage travel, where it applies, is shown at booking in 30-minute blocks - never a surprise on the invoice.
Overtime rounds to the hour
Run past the reserved block and the extra time is billed to the next full hour at the same rate, with tax and gratuity as on the original booking.

LimousineWorldwide.Directory
Our listing in the worldwide directory is how a Toronto client who keeps a chauffeur by the hour here can do the same in Vancouver, London or Dubai through a vetted operator. Every Canadian city and every country on this site is served through that network.

LimousineAssociation.International
Membership commits us to the association's standards on licensing, commercial insurance, vehicle inspection and chauffeur conduct - the things a passenger cannot check from the back seat during a ten-hour day.

HotelsWorldwide.Directory
Our membership of the hotels directory links the car to the bed: concierges and hotel teams across the directory find a vetted Toronto chauffeur in one place, and our clients find the hotel at the far end of the drive - Yorkville, the airport strip, Niagara-on-the-Lake or Muskoka.

VacationsWorldwide.Directory
Membership of the vacations directory puts our day trips - Niagara, the wineries, Muskoka, Blue Mountain, Prince Edward County - in front of travellers planning the whole holiday, with the tours, resorts and activities around them listed alongside.
