Prom night, done properly
Prom is the one night a year when a group of eighteen-year-olds want to arrive together, in something memorable, looking their best - and when their parents want to know exactly who is driving, where the car is going and when everyone will be home. A prom limo in Toronto has to satisfy both. TorontoBlackCarService.net books stretch limousines, stretch SUVs, party buses and Executive Sprinters for prom, graduation and formals across the GTA, with zero alcohol on board, a parent named on every booking, and prices you can divide by the number of friends before anyone pays.
This page covers the vehicles and what they cost per person, the rules, what a parent who books should know, the timing of the evening, and why May and June book early. Further down is convocation car service for graduation day itself - a different, quieter booking. When you are ready, book direct in the reservation engine on this page or call (833) 931-6688 or WhatsApp +1 647-667-7689, 24/7 - not through a third-party marketplace.

The vehicles
Stretch limousine - 8 passengers. The classic prom limousine: long, black, side-facing seats, the photograph everyone expects. Three-hour minimum.
Stretch SUV - 14 passengers. The same idea for a bigger group, with more headroom and more presence in the school parking lot. Five-hour minimum.
Party bus - 14 passengers. Perimeter seating, lighting and a sound system, for a group whose evening is the ride as much as the destination. Five-hour minimum. For prom, the bar area stays empty.
Executive Sprinter - 12 passengers. Forward-facing leather seats, standing headroom and a chauffeur in a suit - less flash, more comfort, and the choice of groups heading out of the city for an after-party at a cottage or venue. Five-hour minimum. The group Sprinter page has the full detail.
The stretch limousine, stretch SUV and party bus are vetted partner vehicles, booked, invoiced and supported by us, with the same standards as the rest of the fleet; the Sprinter is ours. The stretch limo page and the party bus page describe those vehicles in full.
Prom limo prices, per person
Prices are per vehicle, so the real question for a group is the cost per head. The engine's hourly quotes on 8 October 2026, before 13% HST and gratuity, at each vehicle's minimum:
| Vehicle | Hourly rate | At the minimum | Per person |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stretch limo, 8 people, 3 h | from $400-$480 | from $1,200-$1,440 | from $150-$180 each |
| Stretch limo, 8 people, 4 h | from $400-$480 | from $1,600-$1,920 | from $200-$240 each |
| Stretch SUV, 14 people, 5 h | from $450-$540 | from $2,250-$2,700 | from about $161-$193 each |
| Party bus, 14 people, 5 h | from $550-$660 | from $2,750-$3,300 | from about $196-$236 each |
| Executive Sprinter, 12 people, 5 h | from $475-$570 | from $2,375-$2,850 | from about $198-$238 each |
These are ranges, not a single price: the exact rate for your date and addresses shows in the booker before you confirm, and HST and gratuity are added to the total. A group of eight that fills a stretch limo for three hours pays less per head than a group of eight in a Sprinter, because the Sprinter's minimum is five hours; a group of fourteen gets the best per-person number in the stretch SUV. The rates page explains how hourly bookings work, and overtime is billed at the same rate to the next full hour.
A prom limo in Toronto from TorontoBlackCarService.net is a stretch limousine for 8, a stretch SUV or party bus for 14, or an Executive Sprinter for 12, booked by the hour with zero alcohol on board and a parent named on the booking. At the engine's 8 October 2026 quotes, before HST and gratuity, a stretch limo works out from $150-$180 per person for eight people over three hours.
Zero alcohol, no exceptions
There is no alcohol on board any of our vehicles, on any booking, and prom is no different. The legal drinking age in Ontario is 19 - the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario regulates it - and most people at a high school prom are younger than that. Nothing is opened or consumed in the vehicle; sealed purchases ride in the trunk on adult bookings, and on a prom booking there should not be any. The party bus's bar area is a place to put a phone down. Parents who book with us do so partly for this reason, and the chauffeurs know it.
For the parent who books
Most prom bookings are made by a parent, often on behalf of a group of families who split the cost. A few things make the night go right:
- Name a parent contact. Put a parent's name and mobile number on the booking. That is who the desk calls if anything comes up, and who receives the confirmation.
- Agree the addresses in advance. The house for photos, the venue, the after-party if there is one, and the drop-off addresses at the end. The chauffeur drives the agreed plan; changes during the evening go through the booker or the desk, not just whoever is loudest in the back.
- Count the passengers honestly. A stretch limo seats eight. Nine people is a different vehicle, and the chauffeur will not set off overloaded.
- Decide who pays and when. The booking is paid by card in the booker or invoiced; splitting it among families is easier before the night than after.
The chauffeur
Chauffeurs are City of Toronto vehicle-for-hire licensed, Toronto-based and in a suit, and the vehicle carries commercial insurance. On prom night that means a professional adult who arrives early, helps with dresses and doors, keeps the music at a level the group chooses, drives carefully, waits where agreed, and gets everyone to the right addresses at the end. The chauffeur is not a chaperone and does not take over the school's job - but there is a responsible adult at the wheel for the whole evening, which is the point.
Your school's rules
Many Toronto-area schools and boards set their own prom rules: arrival and departure windows, which entrance vehicles use, whether students must travel to and from the venue in a particular way, and what happens if a student arrives after drinking. Read your school's prom information before you book and put any arrival window in the notes; the chauffeur plans the evening around it. If the school has a sign-out procedure at the end of the night, build it into the pickup time.
Photos and pickup timing
The usual prom evening has three parts, and the vehicle should be booked to cover them:
- Photos at a house or a park - the group, the families, the vehicle. Allow 30-45 minutes; in May and June the light is best in the early evening.
- The drive to the venue - from midtown to a downtown hotel or a banquet hall in Vaughan, Mississauga or Markham, typically 20-45 minutes depending on distance and traffic.
- Pickup at the end - at the agreed time and door, then the drop-offs.
On a three-hour stretch limo booking that usually means photos and arrival as one booking and the pickup as a second, or a longer single booking where the car waits. The desk will price both ways; for a five-hour stretch SUV or party bus, the evening usually fits in one block. Garage travel, where it applies, is shown at booking in 30-minute blocks.
Book early: May and June
Prom season in the GTA is concentrated in May and June, and every school's prom seems to fall on the same three Fridays. There are far fewer stretch limousines, stretch SUVs and party buses in the city than there are sedans, and the good ones go first. Book as soon as the date is known - many groups book in the winter - and confirm the number of passengers when the group settles. Cancellations are measured from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%.
Prom party bus, stretch SUV or Sprinter?
A prom party bus in Toronto suits a group of up to fourteen who want lighting, music and room to stand and talk - the ride is part of the night. A stretch SUV carries the same number with more of the classic limousine look in the photographs. A Sprinter is the comfortable choice for a long drive to an after-party out of town, with forward-facing seats and luggage space for overnight bags. A stretch limo is the right size and the best per-person price for a group of eight. Two vehicles travelling together are fine for a larger group; the desk coordinates them.
Convocation car service in Toronto
Graduation day is a different kind of booking: a graduate, two to four guests, a gown over one arm and a time that cannot be missed. A sedan or SUV booked by the hour takes the family to the ceremony, waits through it and the photographs, and on to lunch or dinner afterwards. At the engine's rates on 8 October 2026, before HST and gratuity, three hours in an Executive Sedan is from $405-$480 and in a Business SUV from $525-$630; a Sprinter for a larger family is five hours from $2,375-$2,850.
University of Toronto. U of T holds its ceremonies at Convocation Hall, 31 King's College Circle on the St. George campus; in June 2026 it held 36 ceremonies between 1 and 18 June. Every guest needs a ticket requested by the graduating student, seating is general admission, and the hall opens 60 minutes before the ceremony. From Union Station it is about 3 km and 10-15 minutes; from downtown Markham about 30 km and 35-45 minutes off-peak.
Toronto Metropolitan University. TMU holds its ceremonies at the Mattamy Athletic Centre; its spring 2026 convocation ran 14 ceremonies from 16 to 25 June, with up to four guests per graduate, and TMU asks graduates to arrive at least 90 minutes before their ceremony and warns that parking is difficult. That last point is the argument for a chauffeur.
York University. York's Keele campus spring convocation in 2025 was held at Sobeys Stadium, formerly the Aviva Centre, at 1 Shoreham Drive. Check York's convocation listings for your own date and venue. From the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre it is about 6 km and 10-15 minutes.
For graduations at other colleges and universities, put the venue in the notes and the chauffeur plans the drop and the pickup point; the events page has more on how event days are run.
After prom, and the rest of grad season
Grad season is more than one night. There is often a formal, a grad dinner with the family, a weekend away to celebrate, and the summer drive to a first-year residence in another city. The same desk books all of them: an evening booking for a dinner downtown, a day trip to Niagara or Blue Mountain for a group of graduates with a Sprinter and nobody driving, or a city-to-city drive with a student, two parents and a trunk of bedding to Kingston, Ottawa or Montreal in August.
Booking a prom limo or convocation car
For prom: choose By the hour, the vehicle, the first pickup address and time, and the hours; put the parent contact, the passenger count, the photo location, the venue, the school's arrival window and the drop-off addresses in the notes; confirm the total. For convocation: By the hour, a sedan or SUV, the ceremony time and the university in the notes. Both can be booked direct in the engine on this page, by phone at (833) 931-6688 or WhatsApp +1 647-667-7689, or by email at support@torontoblackcarservice.net.

Eight friends, one plan. The prom booking that goes smoothly is the one where the group agrees the plan before the night: who is in the car, where the photos are, what time the pickup is and which addresses come last. Put it in the notes once, name a parent, and the chauffeur takes care of the rest.
Prom & graduation limo: questions answered
How much is a prom limo in Toronto per person?
At the engine's 8 October 2026 quotes, before HST and gratuity, a stretch limo for eight people over its three-hour minimum is from $1,200-$1,440, or $150-$180 each. A stretch SUV for fourteen over five hours is about $161-$193 each. The booker shows the exact rate.
What is the difference between a prom limousine rental and a party bus?
A stretch limousine seats eight with a three-hour minimum and gives the classic photograph. A party bus seats fourteen with perimeter seating, lighting and sound and a five-hour minimum. Both are vetted partner vehicles booked and supported by us, and neither has alcohol on board.
Is alcohol allowed in a prom limo?
No. There is no alcohol on board any of our vehicles, on any booking. Ontario's legal drinking age is 19, and nothing is opened or consumed in the vehicle. The party bus's bar area stays empty on prom night.
Can a parent book the prom limo for a group?
Yes, and most prom bookings are made by a parent. Put a parent's name and mobile on the booking as the contact, agree the photo, venue and drop-off addresses in advance, and count passengers honestly - the chauffeur will not set off overloaded.
When should we book a prom limo in Toronto?
As soon as the date is known. Prom season is concentrated in May and June, and there are far fewer stretch limousines, stretch SUVs and party buses than sedans. Many groups book in the winter and confirm numbers later.
Do you offer a graduation limo in Toronto?
Yes. For a grad party or formal, the same stretch limo, stretch SUV, party bus and Sprinter options apply. For convocation itself, a sedan or SUV by the hour - from $405-$480 or $525-$630 for three hours - takes the family to the ceremony and waits.
Where are Toronto convocation ceremonies held?
U of T uses Convocation Hall at 31 King's College Circle; TMU used the Mattamy Athletic Centre for its spring 2026 ceremonies; York's Keele campus spring 2025 convocation was at Sobeys Stadium on Shoreham Drive. Check your university's own listing for your date.
How long should I book a prom limo for?
Cover photos, the drive to the venue and the pickup. A stretch limo's minimum is three hours, so many groups book the arrival and the pickup separately, or a longer block where the car waits. Stretch SUVs, party buses and Sprinters have a five-hour minimum that usually covers the evening.
Four rules. No small print.
The hourly minimums are the ones printed in our terms; the rate for each class is quoted live by the reservation engine for your date. The rates page explains what moves it.
- 3hExecutive Sedan, Luxury Sedan, SUV
- 3hStretch Limousine, Economy Van
- 5hExecutive Sprinter, Stretch SUV, Coach, Limo/Party Bus
3-hour minimum
Sedans and SUVs book from three hours; Sprinters and coaches from five. After the minimum, time is billed by the hour.
The clock runs from your door
Hourly time starts at the pickup address, not at our garage. Garage travel, where it applies, is shown at booking in 30-minute blocks - never a surprise on the invoice.
Overtime rounds to the hour
Run past the reserved block and the extra time is billed to the next full hour at the same rate, with tax and gratuity as on the original booking.
Waiting is included
Hourly means the car waits. The meeting that runs long, the dinner that runs late, the second stop you did not plan - the chauffeur is outside, the clock simply continues.

LimousineWorldwide.Directory
Our listing in the worldwide directory is how a Toronto client who keeps a chauffeur by the hour here can do the same in Vancouver, London or Dubai through a vetted operator. Every Canadian city and every country on this site is served through that network.

LimousineAssociation.International
Membership commits us to the association's standards on licensing, commercial insurance, vehicle inspection and chauffeur conduct - the things a passenger cannot check from the back seat during a ten-hour day.

HotelsWorldwide.Directory
Our membership of the hotels directory links the car to the bed: concierges and hotel teams across the directory find a vetted Toronto chauffeur in one place, and our clients find the hotel at the far end of the drive - Yorkville, the airport strip, Niagara-on-the-Lake or Muskoka.

VacationsWorldwide.Directory
Membership of the vacations directory puts our day trips - Niagara, the wineries, Muskoka, Blue Mountain, Prince Edward County - in front of travellers planning the whole holiday, with the tours, resorts and activities around them listed alongside.
