Private driver in Toronto
Your schedule, your stops, your driver - with the car. By the hour, the day or the week, for visitors, executives, families and anyone who would rather not drive in Toronto.
- Yours by the hour
- Flat hourly rate
- Toronto-based chauffeurs
- In the city or out of it
Reserve a private driver
Choose By the hour in the form for an hourly car (3-hour minimum for sedans and SUVs, 5 for Sprinters), or Route for a flat-rate transfer. The rate shows before you confirm. Trouble with the form? Call (833) 931-6688 (toll-free, 24/7) or message us on WhatsApp and we will book it with you.
The same hourly chauffeur in sixteen more cities
Toronto is home. Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa and the rest are served on the same booking through vetted network operators - one standard, one invoice.
The car that stays with you
The hourly chauffeur is the core; the same cars and the same flat rates cover the airport run, the corporate account, the wedding day and the long drive out of the city.
What a private driver is, and is not
A private driver in Toronto, as this site offers it, is a licensed chauffeur with a black car, booked for your exclusive use for a block of hours, a day or a run of days - your schedule, your stops, your pace, the car waiting at every door. It is the hourly chauffeur product described from the client's side: not "a car service" but "my driver for the day". The hourly pillar explains the mechanics; this page is for the person who searched for a private driver and wants to know whether this is that.
It is. What it is not: a driver for your own car (a designated-driver service, which we do not offer), a live-in or salaried chauffeur (though the personal chauffeur page covers standing weekly arrangements), or a ride that ends at the door. The driver comes with the car, the car comes with the driver, and both stay with you for the hours you booked.

Who hires a private driver in Toronto
Visitors. A couple or a family in town for a few days who want to see the city, get to dinner and reach Niagara without a rental car, a map or a surge. The sightseeing page has three days planned.
Executives. A principal in from another city whose day is meetings across Bay Street and the 905 and whose assistant would rather book one driver than nine rides; the as-directed page is the executive version.
Families. A parent who no longer drives, a relative visiting for a month, a family with a child in hospital, a household that needs the school run, the club and the airport covered; the personal chauffeur page turns it into a standing arrangement.
Patients. Anyone with a course of treatment, a day of appointments or a discharge after a procedure; the medical page covers hospital row.
People who do not drive in Toronto. New arrivals from countries that drive on the left, people who have let a licence lapse, people who simply will not drive the 401, and people who would rather work, read or rest for the ten hours a day they would otherwise spend at the wheel.
People with a reason for discretion. A public figure, a witness, a family in a difficult week, an executive under a security protocol. A private driver is discreet by definition.
How it works
Choose By the hour in the reservation engine, the class, the start address, the date and time, and the hours - three is the minimum for a sedan or SUV, eight to ten is a full day. Put the shape of the day in the notes, or do not; the driver follows your instructions as the day unfolds. The plate is texted before the start, the driver is at the door on time, and from then on the car is yours: stops, waits, detours and changes of plan included, billed by the hour at the rate you saw, with overtime to the next hour at the same rate. For a run of days, the multi-day booking keeps the same driver and car.
A private driver in Toronto, as offered here, is a licensed chauffeur with a black car booked for your exclusive use by the hour (three-hour minimum for sedans and SUVs), for the day, or for a run of days - your schedule and your stops, the car waiting at every door, billed at a flat hourly rate with no surge. The driver comes with the car; it is not a service for driving your own vehicle.
The driver
Licensed by the City of Toronto under the vehicle-for-hire bylaw, with an Ontario G licence, a clean abstract and a criminal record check; suited; Toronto-born or long Toronto-based; working to the Limousine Association International's conduct standard. Discreet: what happens in the car stays there, and a driver who has spent a week with a family can tell you nothing about them. Helpful without hovering: doors, bags, a hand at the curb, an umbrella, and silence when you are on a call. Languages on request - Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Farsi, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French and others, subject to availability. Ask for the same driver again and, wherever the diary allows, you get them.
The car
The Executive Sedan for one to three people, the workhorse. The Mercedes S-Class for the client who wants the flagship. The Luxury SUV for a family, a wheelchair, a shopping day, a winter, a day trip with luggage. The Executive Sprinter for a household or group of up to twelve, from five hours. Late-model, black, detailed before every booking, commercially insured, City-plated, winter tyres from November, child seats fitted free. The fleet page has the detail.
What a private driver costs
The class hourly rate for the date, times the hours, plus 13% HST and a gratuity you set, shown before you confirm; fuel, stops and waiting included; tolls only if you choose the 407; parking only where a venue charges it. Three hours minimum. The rates page explains the number and gives the wider Toronto market's published hourly rates for context. A private driver for a day is not cheap and is not meant to be; what it is, against a day of ride-app trips with a wait at each and a surge at the end, is comparable in money by the fourth ride and incomparable in every other way - and the comparison page says so with numbers.
A private driver for the week or the month
The multi-day booking keeps the same driver and car for two days to two weeks - a visit, a production, a hospital stay - with each day its own hourly block and relief drivers planned to Ontario's hours-of-service rules where a day is long. Beyond that, the personal chauffeur page covers the standing arrangement: the same driver every week for a household's routine, booked as a series of hourly blocks with a monthly invoice.
Where the private driver goes
Anywhere. The GTA at one hourly rate - every area page has the local detail. Out of the city to Niagara, Muskoka, Blue Mountain, Prince Edward County, Kingston and back on the same booking; one way to Ottawa, Montreal and across the border. And, on the same account, a private driver of the same standard in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and fifty-nine countries through the worldwide network.
Private driver, chauffeur, black car: the same thing
Toronto searches for this product under a dozen names, and this site answers each on its own page because the questions differ even when the product does not. A chauffeur service is the industry's name. A black car is the car. A personal chauffeur is the standing arrangement. Hire a driver for the day is the first-timer's phrase. A private driver is the client's phrase. The chauffeurs, the cars, the minimums and the pricing rules are identical across all of them.
Booking a private driver for someone else
Book it in your name on your card; put the passenger's name, phone and any needs - a wheelchair, a language, a child seat, "post-surgery" - in the notes. The driver meets them by name at the door and the plate text and the "collected" text go to both phones. Many private-driver bookings are made by a son or daughter for a parent, by an assistant for a principal, or by a host for a guest, and the desk treats the passenger as the client from the moment the car arrives.
Security-conscious clients
For a client under an executive-protection protocol the desk coordinates with the security team: the SUV, a driver briefed on the protocol, routes agreed in advance, no social media, no photographs, a code name on the booking. Discretion is the whole service; this is the formal version of it.
Three private-driver days, briefly
The visitor. A couple from Edinburgh, the Fairmont Royal York, eight hours on a Saturday: the market, the Distillery, the Islands ferry, Casa Loma, Kensington, dinner. The patient. A Leaside resident, three mornings a week for six weeks to Princess Margaret, the same driver, the daughter's phone on the texts. The founder. A principal who does not drive, ten hours on a Tuesday from a Rosedale house across the city and the 905 in the S-Class, working from the back seat, the driver silent until asked.
What to tell the desk
The days and hours; the class; the addresses you know; a flight number if there is one; a second contact; a language; a child seat, a wheelchair or a dog; whether discretion has a formal shape. Nothing more is needed; everything more is welcome.
What the driver will not do
Drive your own car. Drive without a licence, a plate or insurance. Drive past Ontario's hours-of-service limit without a relief driver. Consume alcohol, or allow it in a sedan, SUV or Sprinter. Photograph, post or discuss you. Take the 407 without asking. Add anything to the invoice that was not on the confirmation. Everything else - the route, the stops, the silence, the radio station, the temperature - is yours to direct.
Booking notice
A weekday sedan in the city can usually be booked the same day. A Saturday, a day trip, an SUV in ski season, a Sprinter, or anything in TIFF week needs a week. A multi-day run or a standing arrangement is set up by phone with the desk, and the first block is an introduction - a short drive with the household or the principal so that both sides decide together before the arrangement begins.

One driver, the whole time. The value of a private driver is continuity - the same person who knows by the second stop how you like the car, the route, the silence and the coffee. On an hourly booking that is automatic. On a multi-day or a standing booking the desk holds the same driver wherever the diary allows, and tells you honestly when it cannot.
Private driver Toronto: questions answered
Can I hire a private driver in Toronto by the hour?
Yes - a licensed chauffeur with a black car for your exclusive use, three-hour minimum for a sedan or SUV, billed at a flat hourly rate with stops and waiting included. Eight to ten hours is a full day; a run of days is the multi-day booking.
Does the private driver drive my own car?
No. The driver comes with our commercially insured, City-plated black car - sedan, S-Class, SUV or Sprinter. We do not provide drivers for clients' own vehicles.
How much does a private driver cost in Toronto?
The class hourly rate times the hours plus HST and a gratuity you set, shown before you confirm. Fuel, stops and waiting are included. The rates page explains the number and what other Toronto operators publish per hour.
Can I have the same driver every time?
Yes, wherever the diary allows - automatically on a multi-day booking, and on request for repeat bookings. The desk tells you honestly when the same driver is not available.
Are your drivers discreet?
Yes. Discretion is the service: what happens in the car stays there, no photographs, no social media, and a driver who has spent a week with a family can tell you nothing about them.
Can I hire a private driver for a visiting relative?
Yes. Book in your name with the passenger's details in the notes; the driver meets them by name and the updates go to both phones. Languages are available on request.
Can the private driver take us outside Toronto?
Yes - Niagara, Muskoka, Blue Mountain, Prince Edward County and Kingston as day trips on the same booking, and one-way drives to Ottawa, Montreal, Buffalo and Detroit.
Is a private driver available for a week or a month?
A week or two is the multi-day booking with the same driver and car. A standing arrangement - the same driver every week for a household's routine - is the personal chauffeur service, invoiced monthly.
Four rules. No small print.
The hourly minimums are the ones printed in our terms; the rate for each class is quoted live by the reservation engine for your date. The rates page explains what moves it.
- 3hExecutive Sedan, Luxury Sedan, SUV
- 3hStretch Limousine, Economy Van
- 5hExecutive Sprinter, Stretch SUV, Coach, Limo/Party Bus
3-hour minimum
Sedans and SUVs book from three hours; Sprinters and coaches from five. After the minimum, time is billed by the hour.
The clock runs from your door
Hourly time starts at the pickup address, not at our garage. Garage travel, where it applies, is shown at booking in 30-minute blocks - never a surprise on the invoice.
Overtime rounds to the hour
Run past the reserved block and the extra time is billed to the next full hour at the same rate, with tax and gratuity as on the original booking.
Waiting is included
Hourly means the car waits. The meeting that runs long, the dinner that runs late, the second stop you did not plan - the chauffeur is outside, the clock simply continues.

Vetted in Toronto. Vetted at the far end.

LimousineWorldwide.Directory
Our listing in the worldwide directory is how a Toronto client who keeps a chauffeur by the hour here can do the same in Vancouver, London or Dubai through a vetted operator. Every Canadian city and every country on this site is served through that network.

LimousineAssociation.International
Membership commits us to the association's standards on licensing, commercial insurance, vehicle inspection and chauffeur conduct - the things a passenger cannot check from the back seat during a ten-hour day.

HotelsWorldwide.Directory
Our membership of the hotels directory links the car to the bed: concierges and hotel teams across the directory find a vetted Toronto chauffeur in one place, and our clients find the hotel at the far end of the drive - Yorkville, the airport strip, Niagara-on-the-Lake or Muskoka.

VacationsWorldwide.Directory
Membership of the vacations directory puts our day trips - Niagara, the wineries, Muskoka, Blue Mountain, Prince Edward County - in front of travellers planning the whole holiday, with the tours, resorts and activities around them listed alongside.
