The same hourly chauffeur in sixteen more cities

Toronto is home. Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa and the rest are served on the same booking through vetted network operators - one standard, one invoice.

What a multi-day chauffeur is

A multi-day booking is a run of daily hourly blocks - eight, ten or twelve hours a day - with the same chauffeur and the same car for the whole run, from two days to two weeks. It is the product for a visiting executive's week in Toronto, a film production's shoot, a conference or trade-show week at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, a family's stay with a child in hospital, a delegation, a wedding weekend, or a relocation where the new arrival needs to see the city, the schools and the houses over several days. One booking, one chauffeur who learns the week, one invoice at the end.

The difference from booking a full day five times is continuity. By the second morning the chauffeur knows the hotel's side entrance, the office's loading dock, the school's drop-off rule, the coffee order and the names. By the third the client stops giving directions. That is worth more to a visiting principal than any feature of the car, and it is the reason multi-day bookings are made by the same companies year after year.

The weeks people book

The visiting executive. Monday to Friday, ten hours a day, S-Class, Pearson to Pearson. Mornings from the Four Seasons or the Ritz-Carlton to Bay Street, lunches, afternoons across the city, dinners, and the chauffeur waiting outside each. The assistant sends one itinerary on Sunday night and revises it by text as the week moves. On account, one line per day on the monthly invoice.

The production week. A film or television shoot on a call sheet: talent from the hotel to set at 5:30 am, producers between the studio districts in Etobicoke, Leslieville and Port Lands, a Sprinter for crew, a return at wrap. Twelve-hour days, planned with relief chauffeurs to Ontario's hours-of-service rules. The film and production page has the detail and TIFF week is its own season.

The conference week. A company with twenty delegates at the Convention Centre or the Enercare Centre: a Sprinter shuttling between the hotel block and the venue, an S-Class for the CEO's keynote day, sedans for the client dinners. Multi-day, multi-vehicle, one dispatcher, one invoice. The events page covers the venue logistics.

The family with a patient. A family from out of province with a child at SickKids or a parent at Princess Margaret: a chauffeur for the week between the hotel, the hospital and the pharmacy, at the hours the hospital sets, patient and discreet. The medical page is written for this.

The relocation. A family moving to Toronto with a week to choose a house and a school: the chauffeur, the agent and the family in the SUV, Forest Hill to Oakville to King City, the schools in between, the same chauffeur every day so the children stop noticing the car. The real-estate page plans the days.

The wedding weekend. The rehearsal dinner Friday, the wedding Saturday, the brunch Sunday, airport runs either side - one chauffeur for the couple's family for three days, and a stretch or a Sprinter for the day itself. The wedding-day page covers the Saturday.

How the days are structured

Each day is its own hourly block with the class minimum - three hours for a sedan or SUV, five for a Sprinter - and most multi-day bookings run eight to twelve hours a day. Days need not be equal: a week can be ten, ten, six, twelve, four. A day off in the middle costs nothing. The chauffeur's start time and end time are set the evening before by text, and the block is billed as used, to the next hour, at the rate on the confirmation. Garage travel, where it applies, is usually waived on a multi-day booking because the car is effectively based at the hotel.

A multi-day chauffeur in Toronto is a run of daily hourly blocks - usually eight to twelve hours a day - with the same licensed chauffeur and black car for two days to two weeks. Each day is billed as used at the flat hourly rate; days need not be equal, a day off costs nothing, and relief chauffeurs are planned where Ontario's hours-of-service rules require them.

The chauffeur, the relief chauffeur and Ontario's rules

Ontario limits a commercial driver's on-duty and driving hours in a day and across a week under the commercial vehicle operator's rules, and a chauffeur who is with you from 6 am to 11 pm is on duty for all of it. We do not pretend otherwise. A multi-day booking with twelve-hour-plus days is planned with a relief chauffeur who takes the evening or the early morning, briefed by the primary on the client's preferences and the week's routine, in the same car. Most executive weeks at ten hours a day need no relief; most production weeks do. The dispatcher tells you which at booking.

The same car, kept for you

On a multi-day booking the car is assigned to you for the run, kept at the hotel's valet or a nearby garage overnight where that is practical, and detailed each morning. Your things can stay in it - the suit carrier, the laptop bag, the child seat, the cooler for the hospital days. The class can change mid-week - an S-Class for the meeting days and an SUV for the Saturday at Blue Mountain - if it is booked that way; the fleet page has the classes and the engine takes each day separately.

What a week costs

The daily blocks at the class hourly rate, plus HST and the gratuity you set, on one invoice. There is no weekly rate as such, because every week is a different shape; what a multi-day booking does earn is the waiver of garage travel and, for corporate accounts booking regularly, a negotiated hourly rate applied automatically. The rates page explains the hourly number and the corporate accounts page the account terms. Against the alternative - a rental car nobody wants to park downtown, or thirty ride-app trips booked by an assistant - the week is not close, and the comparison page says why.

Out of the city within the week

The Muskoka Saturday in the middle of the executive's week, the Niagara day for the visiting board, the Blue Mountain day for the family: all are days within the multi-day booking, priced as that day's hourly block, with the car going out and coming home. The day-trip board gives the drive and the block for each. For a week that moves cities - three days in Toronto and two in Montreal or Ottawa - the city-to-city page prices the drive between and the Canada pages pick up the chauffeur at the far end.

Multi-day across Canada

A visiting executive's tour - Toronto Monday, Calgary Wednesday, Vancouver Friday - is one multi-day account booking with a Toronto chauffeur here and vetted network operators in Calgary and Vancouver, the same minimums, the same flat-rate promise and one invoice, through the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network. The Canada hub explains how the standard travels.

Booking it

Book the first day in the engine - By the hour, class, start address, date, time, hours - and put the run in the notes: the dates, the rough hours each day, the hotel, the shape of the week as far as it is known. The dispatcher confirms the chauffeur, the car and any relief plan by email, and each further day is added to the booking. For a production or a conference, send the call sheet or the programme and the desk builds the schedule from it. Changes are by text to the chauffeur or a call to the desk; nothing is re-quoted for a change of plan.

A production week, planned

Monday: 5:30 am talent from the Thompson Hotel to a location in the Port Lands; producers between the production office in Leslieville and set; wrap at 6:30 pm. Thirteen hours, so the primary chauffeur takes 5:30 to 2:30 and the relief takes 2:00 to wrap in the same S-Class. Tuesday and Wednesday the same. Thursday a studio day at Pinewood in the Port Lands, eight hours, primary only. Friday a location day in Hamilton, twelve hours, both chauffeurs. A Sprinter runs crew from the hotel block each morning on its own five-hour blocks. One booking, five days, two vehicles, three chauffeurs, one invoice with each day's hours on it, and a dispatcher who has the call sheet and re-plans when the shoot moves.

An executive week, planned

Monday Pearson to the Four Seasons at 4 pm as a transfer. Tuesday to Thursday ten-hour as-directed days in the S-Class from 8 am, the chauffeur waiting at Bay Street towers and restaurants. Friday a six-hour block ending at Pearson at 2 pm. Twenty-six hourly hours plus two transfers, one chauffeur throughout, garage travel waived, on the corporate account. The assistant sent the itinerary on Sunday; by Wednesday the chauffeur was suggesting the lunch reservation.

What the desk needs from you

The dates, the hotel, the rough hours each day, the class for each day if it varies, and a contact who can be texted at 7 am. For a production, the call sheet; for a conference, the programme; for a hospital week, the appointment times as they are known. Everything else - the relief plan, the overnight parking, the route each morning - is the dispatcher's problem, and the confirmation sets it out day by day so there is nothing to remember.

The week you did not plan. Multi-day bookings can also begin as a single day that becomes two. If the visitor's stay is extended, the chauffeur who did Monday is offered Tuesday first; if the hospital week runs into a second, the booking runs with it. Tell the desk as soon as you know, and the same chauffeur is held wherever the diary allows.

FAQ

Multi-day & weekly chauffeur: questions answered

How long can a multi-day chauffeur booking run?

From two days to two weeks as a standing booking; longer runs are set up as a personal chauffeur arrangement. Each day is its own hourly block, usually eight to twelve hours, billed as used.

Will it be the same chauffeur every day?

Yes, that is the point of the booking. Where a day exceeds what Ontario's hours-of-service rules allow one driver, a relief chauffeur briefed by the primary takes the early morning or the late evening, in the same car.

Do the days have to be the same length?

No. A week can be ten, ten, six, twelve, four. A day off in the middle costs nothing. Each day has the class minimum - three hours for a sedan or SUV, five for a Sprinter - and is billed to the next hour as used.

Is there a weekly rate?

The daily blocks are billed at the class hourly rate; garage travel is usually waived because the car is based at your hotel, and corporate accounts booking regularly have a negotiated rate applied automatically. One invoice for the run.

Can I change the car mid-week?

Yes, if the days are booked that way - an S-Class for the meeting days and an SUV for a Saturday at Blue Mountain. Each day is booked and priced by class.

Can my things stay in the car overnight?

Yes. The car is assigned to you for the run and kept at the hotel's valet or a nearby garage overnight where practical, and detailed each morning. A suit carrier, a child seat or a laptop bag can stay in it.

Can a multi-day booking include days outside Toronto?

Yes - a Niagara or Muskoka day within the week is that day's hourly block with the car going out and coming home. A week that moves to Montreal or Calgary is handled with network operators at the far end on the same account.

How do I book a production or conference week?

Send the call sheet or the programme to the desk and the schedule is built from it, with the vehicles, chauffeurs and relief plan confirmed by email. Changes during the week are by text or phone; nothing is re-quoted.

How hourly works

Four rules. No small print.

The hourly minimums are the ones printed in our terms; the rate for each class is quoted live by the reservation engine for your date. The rates page explains what moves it.

  • 3hExecutive Sedan, Luxury Sedan, SUV
  • 3hStretch Limousine, Economy Van
  • 5hExecutive Sprinter, Stretch SUV, Coach, Limo/Party Bus

3-hour minimum

Sedans and SUVs book from three hours; Sprinters and coaches from five. After the minimum, time is billed by the hour.

The clock runs from your door

Hourly time starts at the pickup address, not at our garage. Garage travel, where it applies, is shown at booking in 30-minute blocks - never a surprise on the invoice.

Overtime rounds to the hour

Run past the reserved block and the extra time is billed to the next full hour at the same rate, with tax and gratuity as on the original booking.

Waiting is included

Hourly means the car waits. The meeting that runs long, the dinner that runs late, the second stop you did not plan - the chauffeur is outside, the clock simply continues.

Toronto & the GTA

Seventeen areas. One hourly rate.

The clock starts at your door whether that door is on Bay Street, in Yorkville, in Oakville or in Newmarket. Pick the area for the local detail - garage time, venues, the roads that matter.
