Who we are

This website is https://torontoblackcarservice.net, operated by TorontoBlackCarService.net, a chauffeured transportation service based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at support@torontoblackcarservice.net or on (833) 931-6688. This policy explains what personal data the site and the desk collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect, and why

Reservations. When you book through the reservation engine on this site - which is provided by our booking-software partner and appears as an embedded form - you provide the details a booking needs: your name, phone number and email address, the pick-up and drop-off addresses, the date, time and hours, the vehicle class, the number of passengers, flight details where relevant, any notes you add, and payment card details, which are entered into and processed by the booking and payment provider, not stored by this site. We use these details to confirm, dispatch and perform the service you booked, to contact you about it, to send the confirmation and the invoice, and to keep the records the law and our accountants require.

Contact. When you call, email or use the live chat, we collect what you give us - typically your name, contact details and the details of what you are asking about - and use it to respond, to quote, to book and to provide customer service. The live chat on this site is provided by a third-party chat service; a conversation in it is held on that service's systems.

Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics to understand how it is used - which pages are visited, from where, on what device, for how long. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects your IP address and browser information; we use the aggregated reports and do not use them to identify you. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

The travel-desk widget. The flight, hotel and travel search widget on this site is provided by our partner BookingWorldwide.net. A search or a booking made in it is made on BookingWorldwide.net's systems under its own privacy policy.

Embedded content. The booking engine, the chat, the analytics and the travel widget are embedded from other websites, and embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other website directly: those sites may set cookies, collect data and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

Cookies

This site itself sets no cookies of its own. The embedded services above - the booking engine, the live chat, Google Analytics and the travel widget - may set cookies according to their own policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site will still work, though the embedded forms may not remember what you typed.

Who we share your data with

Your reservation details are shared with the chauffeur assigned to your booking and, for a booking in another city served through our network, with the vetted local operator performing it, to the extent they need them to perform the service. Payment details are processed by the booking and payment provider. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with anyone else except as the law requires.

How long we keep it

Reservation records are kept for as long as the law and our accounting obligations require - generally seven years - and then deleted. Contact enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for as long as is useful to respond and then deleted. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for the period set in our configuration and aggregated.

Your rights

You may ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, except where we must keep it for legal, accounting or security reasons. Write to support@torontoblackcarservice.net with enough detail to identify the booking or the enquiry, and we will answer within a reasonable time. Canadian residents have the rights set out in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and, in Quebec, in the province's private-sector privacy law; a complaint that we have not resolved may be taken to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

Reservation and payment details are transmitted over encrypted connections by the booking provider. We limit access to booking records to the desk and the chauffeurs who need them. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the reasonable steps a business of our kind should.

Children

This site and the desk's services are for adults; we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. A child travelling as a passenger is booked by an adult, and the booking's details are the adult's.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes; the current version is always the one at this address, and the date at the foot of the page is the date of the last change.
